Blount County Unsung Heroes

For Lilli Teeter Brown, growing up as the oldest of seven children, her mother and father were her mentors. Her father served as a high school science teacher and coached football and basketball. He and her mother taught core values that would guide Brown throughout her life.

Celebrate the holiday season with Mabry-Hazen House! The historic house museum will offer its popular Christmas tours on December 9 and 10, 2023.

Join us for historic Christmas cheer! On Saturday, December 9 and Sunday, December 10 from 5pm to 8pm, tours will be offered every thirty minutes. See the historic house all lit by candlelight and decorated in a festive mix of historic and modern styles by our docents!

The holidays are in full swing and we can’t be more excited at VIP Knoxville. It is with great pleasure that we will introduce a new Editor, Lindsay Hughes in 2024. Lindsay has been with the magazine in a part-time sales role for the past year. We couldn’t be more excited for her to take on this new role and take VIP Knoxville to even greater heights.

Hundreds of pets receive blessings from clergy members each year here at the Episcopal School of Knoxville. This year, on October 4th, we saw a wide range of pets including dogs, cats, chickens, horses, snakes and rats.

Our Forever Home: The Maddox Family Took a Tour of Knoxville

The Maddox Family knows their way around Knoxville. The family of three, Amanda, Josh and daughter Stella Grace, have lived in Fountain City, Sequoyah Hills, the Regas Building in downtown and are currently residents in the Westmoreland Heights neighborhood. And, they claim, they are here forever.

Knoxville’s Slyman Auction welcomes a new generation of leadership

Slyman Auction, serving Knoxville and the surrounding area for over 50 years, is now a second-generation company. Laura Slyman, daughter of Slyman Auction founder James “Jim” Slyman, has taken over the firm following her father’s passing in May of this year.
