Ridgefield Reclaimed: Breathing New Life into a Fountain City Treasure

When Ridgefield Manor fell into the hands of Ron Hall and Robert York, the moniker “manor” was a bit of a stretch. Although the two were well-versed in house flipping, even Hall was a bit hesitant to take on such a large-scale project. “There were holes in the garage, what is now our carriage house,” he laughs. “We had to chase off a family of racoons who were living there!”

Editors Letter

As I sit down to write this letter, the sound of steady rainfall still lingers in my ears. April showers are a seasonal expectation here in East Tennessee, but this year they seemed to carry right on through May, leaving us with one of the rainiest Mays on record, and I think we’re all more than ready to trade our umbrellas for sunglasses and start soaking up some sunshine. Now, as we turn the calendar to June and look ahead to July, the promise of sunnier days feels like a welcome reward.

Editors Letter

Just last week, my oldest son casually mentioned that he only has 19 days of school left. Nineteen days! Part of me immediately felt a small jolt of anxiety, realizing that very soon, both of my children will be home full-time for the summer. Entertaining two energetic kids for weeks on end is no small feat, and as any parent knows, summer break requires almost as much planning and coordination as the school year itself.
