Knoxville Habitat for Humanity Celebrates Achievements

Knoxville Habitat for Humanity has been recognized as a “Top 45” U.S. Affiliate” for the third year. The Top 45 Affiliates are chosen each year, among more than 1,000 Habitat for Humanity affiliates across the U.S., based on each affiliate’s new home production. For the third consecutive year, Knoxville Habitat for Humanity has been chosen as one of these top affiliate organizations.

Habitat for Humanity has long been a leader in producing and advocating for affordable housing, and the Top 45 Habitat Affiliates across the nation meet each year to discuss innovative and strategic measures that are working in local communities to address the affordable housing crisis.

The organization has also announced its upcoming CEO Build. The Knoxville Habitat CEO Build, presented by Bank of America, is an opportunity for C-suite executives to raise awareness of the growing need for available workforce housing in the region. Bank of America  has provided a grant in the amount of $17,500 to support Knoxville Habitat for Humanity’s second CEO Build scheduled for April 2022 in Ellen’s Glen, situated in a quiet, peaceful area  off Strawberry Plains Pike that will include 35 single-story homes, sidewalks and underground utilities.

Bank of America has been a longtime supporter of Knoxville Habitat’s homeownership program, including the organization’s homeownership education that every future homeowner family must complete in order to build and purchase a home.

The group also announced the dedication of the most recent home constructed through its Women Build program.  The dedication showcased the new home of local resident Diane, an inspirational woman who embodies strength and love. In 2021, supporters and sponsors were given the opportunity to join Diane in building her home.
