Lay Receives Impact Award from the Tennessee Society of CPAs

Jason Lay, CPA, of Knoxville, was recently presented with the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (TSCPA) 2026 TSCPApex Impact Award.

The TSCPApex Awards Program recognizes the many ways that individuals contribute significant time, energy and intellect to developing the accounting profession and fostering its success. The Impact Award is given to a TSCPA member who has distinguished him or herself in philanthropic activities.

Throughout his career, Jason has made significant contributions to improving public health services across the state of Tennessee. He began his public service in July 2012 as the Public Health Finance Director of the Knox County Health Department. In 2015, he joined the McNabb Center, an organization whose mission is to improve the mental health and quality of life of individuals in Tennessee, as CFO.

Today, he serves as Vice President at the McNabb Center, working alongside clinical leadership to maintain the financial stability and fiscal excellence required to keep crucial mental health programs for individuals with the most needs and fewest resources in place.

Outside of work, Jason served two years as treasurer for TAMHO, Tennessee’s collective of mental health organizations. He has also served TSCPA on the Not-for-Profit, Governmental and Health Care Committees and frequently serves as a moderator and panelist at TSCPA conferences.
