There’s something about this time of year that always makes me want to refresh my home. Maybe it’s knowing the holidays are around the corner, but every fall, I get the urge to rearrange furniture, light a few candles and make things feel cozy and new again. This year, that urge led me to one particular project: brightening up a dark hallway. It’s a small space, but one I walk through dozens of times a day, and it suddenly felt too gloomy. I decided a lighter paint color would do the trick, an easy weekend project, or so I thought. But by the second day of taping, trimming and touching up corners that didn’t quite cooperate, I had to admit it: I should have hired a professional. My hallway is brighter now, but the experience reminded me just how much skill and patience go into making a home beautiful. It’s one thing to have a vision, and another entirely to bring it to life with the same ease and precision the professionals do every day.

That’s why our All About Home issue celebrates the talented local professionals who transform the places we live into the homes we love. From designers and builders to flooring specialists, landscapers and furniture showrooms, this edition shines a light on Knoxville’s home industry and the people who turn inspiration into inviting, livable spaces. Whether it’s fluffing the couch pillows, hanging a wreath on the door or setting the table for Thanksgiving dinner, these small rituals remind us how comforting “home” truly is. And the professionals featured in this issue know that feeling well. They dedicate their time and talent to helping others achieve it. So, if you’ve been thinking about tackling a home project this season, big or small, let this issue be your inspiration.

As we head into this season of gratitude and giving, I hope your home feels like a place of warmth and joy. Light the candles, pour the cider and take a moment to enjoy the comfort of the spaces you’ve created. Because at the end of the day, that’s what it’s really all about: feeling at home, surrounded by the people and things you love most.
