Rick McGill's Airport Toyota Donates $30k to UT Medical Center Cancer Institute

Representatives from Rick McGill’s Airport Toyota recently presented a donation to the University of Tennessee Medical Center Cancer Institute. Over the last three years, Rick McGill’s Airport Toyota has donated a total of $30,000 to UT Medical Center Cancer Institute to support breast cancer research and outreach. This year’s donation for $10,000 will once again benefit the Breast Health Outreach Program, which provides screenings and education to women in East Tennessee.

Supporting breast cancer research and outreach is a priority to Rick McGill’s Airport Toyota. “We all know someone who has been affected by cancer, so we are honored to make a contribution towards fighting cancer in East Tennessee with the help of Toyota USA and our customers,” said Peter Renzulli, Sales Manager. Nine team members from Rick McGill’s Airport Toyota took part in the presentation with the Cancer Institute.

“The ongoing support of Rick McGill Toyota over the last three years has provided breast cancer screenings for over 9,200 women. These screenings are delivered six days a week on our mobile mammography unit in the communities where women work, live, shop, worship and gather eliminating barriers to obtain this important screening. We are grateful for their continued partnership and commitment to save and improve the lives of women in our region.

Without their support, these services would not have been possible,” said Dr. John L. Bell. BHOP is a unique grant-funded program that provides essential breast health services in 21 East Tennessee Counties. In addition to providing mobile mammography, free breast health educational classes are offered on-site to businesses, churches, and other convenient community locations throughout the region. These classes focus on the importance of early detection including screening guideline updates and warning signs of breast cancer.
