Middlebrook: A Timeless Legacy

Middlebrook is a labor of love. It can boast that it is one of the longest continuously lived-in houses in Tennessee, having been occupied in various iterations since 1795. Its current occupants, Rick Fox and Ralph Cianelli continue to steward the house and nine other buildings on their property, including maintaining many collections displayed prominently throughout the historic structure.

Meet Stephanie Bauer Daniel. She is a lawyer, a wife and mother, and she is passionate about working in her East Tennessee community. Her first experience in volunteerism was in Alpha Delta Pi where she ultimately served as president of her chapter at East Tennessee State University. She enjoyed working in leadership, and that led her to join the Junior League.

Blount County Unsung Heroes

For Lilli Teeter Brown, growing up as the oldest of seven children, her mother and father were her mentors. Her father served as a high school science teacher and coached football and basketball. He and her mother taught core values that would guide Brown throughout her life.

The 20th Annual Covenant Kids Run has officially started with a kickoff marked by a 1-mile run outside West Town Mall, starting and finishing at DICK’S House of Sport and attended byhundreds of East Tennessee students racing to raise money for their schools.

Local Start-Up To National Brand: Family-Owned Sugarland turns 10

Distilleries are one of Tennessee’s biggest drivers of economic growth, accounting for $3.5 billion in impact and 30,000 jobs across the state, according to a study by Tourism Economics.

One local distillery that’s helping fuel that growth is celebrating its 10th anniversary in a few weeks and I was hoping we could work together on this story that runs the gamut of entrepreneurship, food/bev, tourism, entertainment, and more.
