Dinner, Diamonds & Dancing

Story and photography by Britt Cole

The headquarters of Jewelry Television was the site of a glittering fundraiser for the McClung Museum featuring Patrick Jephson, former private secretary to the Princess of Wales. During the cocktail hour, guests had the opportunity to purchase Diana-inspired jewelry. Following dinner prepared by Creative Catering of Knoxville, guests listened to Jephson’s behind the scenes account of life with the princess followed by a question and answer period and the opportunity to have Jephsen autograph copies of his book “Shadows of a Princess,” which was included in guests’ gift bags. The evening concluded with a dessert buffet and dancing to the music of the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra accompanied by Kelle Jolly. The McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture, located on the UT campus, has collections with a focus on natural history, archaeology, anthropology, decorative arts and local history.
