A Renovation by Stacy Jacobi

Stacy Jacobi is no stranger to renovation, “I’ve lived, remodeled and built from scratch, 13 houses in 13 years, so a serene interior is a must for my busy lifestyle.” Her most recent renovation, located on Talahi Drive in the heart of Sequoyah Hills, was built in 1938. Jacobi said, “I purchased this home in the spring of this year. It was a home loved by its owner for 50 plus years.” While she tried to keep some aspects of the home in place, it was a total remodel to prepare it for today’s buyer. “It didn’t have air conditioning or a master bedroom; just two bedrooms upstairs, and two bedrooms downstairs with a jack and jill. I created a true master bath with a soaking tub and large shower plus a walk-in closet and double vanity,” she noted. “I did save the original mantle. I was told that it came from the original owner’s family farm.” Jacobi also kept the Dutch doors and outdoor pond, as well as the beautiful rose garden in the backyard. “The owner was a master gardener, and I had to save her Lenten roses,” Jacobi continued. Other than those features, the entire home was renovated. Jacobi said that walls were removed, new baths were installed, along with new plumbing and electrical.

Not only does Jacobi have an entrepreneurial spirit, she also has a giving one. Jacobi came up with the idea to show off her home renovations while giving back to the community. “Before I sell one of my homes, I team up with a designer to furnish it, and we sell tickets to view the home, and donate the proceeds to a local charity,”

Jacobi explained. This time around, she teamed up with Natalie Clayman Interior Design to raise money for Second Harvest Food Bank. “The home helped raise $20,000, which translates to over 60,000 meals for East Tennesseans,” Jacobi exclaimed. She is already looking to the future, “My next project will again be in Sequoyah Hills and I hope to have it ready for a tour in the late spring of 2023.”
