Every year, I tell myself I'm only going to buy school supplies for my boys, and every year I leave the store with a few extras for myself. There's just something about fresh notebooks and colorful pens that makes a new season feel full of possibility. While my kids are excited about backpacks and lunch boxes, I'm thinking about getting my office organized and setting myself up for a productive finish to the year.

Summer has been filled with adventures, pool days, last-minute outings and making memories with my boys. Every morning brought a new opportunity to decide where the day would take us. It has been one of my favorite summers yet, and I wouldn't trade those moments for anything.
Still, many of my own routines quietly disappeared. Bedtimes became more flexible. Workdays became less structured. Healthy habits often took a back seat to convenience. I'm guessing I'm not the only one who feels that way.

As the school year begins, I'm looking forward to the return of a familiar rhythm. The predictability of the school schedule helps every part of our family's day fall into place. It gives me the opportunity to better manage my time and intentionally make room for the habits that help me feel my best. Health and wellness often feels like another item on an already full to-do list, but I've learned that it doesn't have to mean overhauling your entire lifestyle. Small, consistent choices have a way of creating lasting change. This month's issue is dedicated to the professionals throughout our community who help make those choices a little easier. Inside these pages, you'll meet local physicians, fitness experts, wellness providers and specialists who are passionate about helping East Tennesseans live healthier lives. Whether you're looking to improve your physical health, prioritize your mental well-being or simply establish better everyday habits, you'll find valuable resources right here in our community.

August has always felt like a fresh start, and sometimes a fresh start is exactly what we need. Here's to a season of new beginnings, renewed routines and taking care of ourselves just as intentionally as we care for everyone else.
