TOURING CONTINUOUSLY HAS HELPED THE POWERHOUSE PERFORMER ESTABLISH HIMSELF AS ONE OF THE HARDEST WORKING AND SOULFUL VOICES OF HIS GENERATION

King is a Greenville, South Carolina native but recently relocated to Nashville. He’s not had much of a chance to settle in, as he’s barely been home. Since 2015 Marcus has toured endlessly with his group The Marcus King Band, performing over 140 live shows in the last calendar year. At 23 years old, young guitar hero Marcus King has already been performing live for 15 years - he has performed on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, made his debut at The Grand Ole Opry and recently he joined Chris Stapleton on his US arena tour playing up to over 17k people at sold out shows.

Marcus says the inspiration for his live work ethic comes from the performers he admires, especially on the most recent tour, “Stapleton was an inspiration to watch. The amount of hard work and care that he puts into his show is powerful. I feel blessed to have joined him on the road and look forward to working with him and his team again.”

The Marcus King Band continue to sell out dates including a three-night run at Brooklyn Bowl earlier this year and The Marcus King Band Family Reunion, their very own festival, which will take place on September 27-28 2019 at Pisgah Brewing Company in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains. The lineup, curated by Marcus himself, includes Jason Isbell, Josh Ritter, Amanda Shires, Futurebirds, Los Coast and festival namesake The Marcus King Band performing two sets over the multi-day event.

King has earned rave reviews for his live kinetic musicianship with The Washington Post describing him as a “guitar phenom” alongside tastemaker media VICE/Noisey (“astounding and triumphant”), NPR (“tenacious and vulnerable”) and Rolling Stone Magazine who described him as an “electrifying rock performer.” King’s music is a contemporary genre-bending sonic exploration of classic rock, blues, R&B and country-soul. One of the most dynamic performers on the live circuit, The Marcus King Band is a blistering, versatile unit that has honed their synergy through endless touring. Though he’s known for face melting guitar solos, it’s King’s arresting powerhouse vocals that have quickly established him as one of the most soulful voices of his generation.
