Story and photography by Liz Lyons

Positively Living serves vulnerable groups struggling to survive the challenges created by HIV/AIDS, homelessness, mental illness, addiction, and disabilities. Its mission is to improve the lives of the people they serve through advocacy, counseling, socialization, housing, case management and support. They do this with a combination of several programs ranging from prevention and awareness to stabilization and support. This mission was celebrated at the annual World AIDS Day Breakfast held at the Downtown Hilton. World AIDS Day is an international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and mourning those who have died of the disease.
