Story and photography by Teresa Scott

The 10-year anniversary celebration of The Oliver Hotel on Historic Market Square began with a champagne toast in the festively adorned lobby. Attendees toured two second floor suites to see updated amenities and sampled Castle & Key Distillery’s Restoration Rye Whiskey and Roots of Ruin Seasonal Gin. In the Peter Kern Library, staff offered a taste of a hand-selected flight of bourbon, including one-time release of 2021 Limited Edition Knob Creek. In addition, guests enjoyed the music of Boogy Nights and an elaborate array of hors d’oeuvres in the Oliver Royale, the hotel’s restaurant, that included artisan cheese and charcuterie, Florida stone crab claws, truffles and macarons and special passed treats of tempura lobster, confit pork belly, beef tenderloin tartar and snapper and shrimp ceviche. A signature cocktail, “Golden Age,” consisted of rye, raspberry-infused Montenegro, Averna, lemon, honey and champagne.
