Story and photography by Teresa Scott

“Passport to Hope” was the theme chosen for American Cancer Society’s annual Knoxville Hope Gala held at The Press Room. There was a silent auction and elevated cocktail hour with popular appetizers and drinks from around the world. Artist Jessica Ramsey was painting a piece to be auctioned and Emily Wyrick, singer, performed before the dinner and live auction. Honorees recognized were Larry Kilgore, Bob Kesling, Daniel Ibach, Sarah Pattison and, in memoriam, Sheryl Sampson. The honoree celebration was sponsored by The Wakefield Corporation. There was an after-party with a live concert.
