Hand in Hand: Fundraising Gala

Story and photography by Liz Lyons

A Hand Up for Women recently held its annual fundraising gala at The Foundry on the Fair Site. Entertainment was provided by Kelle Jolly and the Professors of Jazz with Keynote Speakers Eva Pierce and Phil Williams. A Hand Up For Women is a life-management and job-readiness ministry that brings dignity, self-confidence and hope to women who might otherwise remain trapped in addiction, abuse, poverty and despair. Through the combination of classes, mentoring, networking, fellowship and spiritual development, the organization helps women realize skills, self-sufficiency and faith to reach their full potential.
