Spring is truly the season of renewal. After a cold, harsh winter, nothing lifts our spirits like seeing early spring flowers popping up around us. As the weather warms and days get longer, our whole perspective shifts. During the winter months, I tend to hibernate at home as much as possible. Those that know me, know that my happy place is under a blanket with a book and some hot tea. When spring arrives I tend to get out from under that blanket and look at all of the clutter that I’ve accumulated in my home over the winter months. Does anyone else feel the need to purchase new sweaters and blankets every winter?
And how did I end up with an entire cabinet dedicated to mugs? Does one person really need 17 mugs? Apparently I do. Well around this time every year I do the great purge. I get rid of the things that as Marie Kondo would say, “no longer bring me joy.” If you notice a pep in my step, it may be from that, but don’t worry, I still have a stack of blankets and sweaters hidden away. I’m trying to embody this philosophy in everything that I do. I’m feeling a bit happier and lighter already. I hope all of you can find a way to bring a little more joy to your lives and lighten your loads this spring. Do things that make you happy. Life is too short not to.
