Art and City Placemaking

The East Tennessee Community Design Center recently hosted “Art and City Placemaking” a multi-faceted approach to planning, design and management of public spaces. Liza Zenni executive director of the Arts & Culture Alliance, spoke on “Re-imaging the City through Culturally Significant Art and Murals.” Eric Asboe from the Chattanooga Department of Transportation talked about “Creative Placemaking Through Art.” Josiah Golson, resident artist, 800 Collective in Chattanooga, looked at “Using Art and Placemaking to Raise up a Neighborhood.” A reception and art activity followed the speakers.
