STORY AND PHOTOGRAPHY BY MARCY ANDERSON SANFORD
Bob Kesling, former Director of Broadcasting at the Vol Network and lead play-by-play announcer for the UT football and basketball teams, and Bert Bertelkamp, UT basketball alumni, former Vol Network Game Analyst and current President of Bertelkamp Automation were honored at the 2025 Spirit Award Dinner. The McNabb Center and the Helen Ross McNabb Foundation have been recognizing people at the signature event since 2004. As devoted advocates for the mission of the McNabb Center, Kesling and Bertelkamp have raised more than $1 million for the Center’s programming over the past 10 years through the Bob Kesling & Bert Bertelkamp Golf Tournament. The McNabb Center is the region’s leading nonprofit provider of mental health, substance use, social and victim services. Since 1948, the Center has proudly served individuals with the most needs and fewest resources. Today, the McNabb Center delivers support to more than 51,000 people throughout East Tennessee each year.
