Keep Knoxville Beautiful hosted their 7th Annual Summit at the East Tennessee History Center, themed for 2026 “Rooted in Place.” Participants had the opportunity to listen to experts in their fields discuss how the power of placemaking and how thoughtful design can turn everyday spaces into vibrant, welcoming community hubs. Panel discussion and lectures examined reimagining underused spaces and community-driven design to foster connection, belonging and a stronger sense of place. Keep Knoxville Beautiful was founded in 1978 as the Greater Knoxville Beautification Board to help clean up Knoxville before the 1982 World’s Fair and is dedicated to making the county cleaner, greener and more beautiful.
