EAST TENNESSEE COMMUNITY DESIGN CENTER SUMMER PARTY AND TOUR

June 7, 2018

The  East Tennessee Community Design Center organizes people, researches ideas, and identifies resources to facilitate positive change in the region.

ETCDC provides architectural, planning, and engineering services to encourage community development efforts. We award grants of service to nonprofit groups and community organizations in East Tennessee for projects that will serve the public at large. Professionals, including pro bono volunteers, offer technical services so that nonprofits and community groups can benefit from their expertise at little or no cost. This helps fill a much-needed gap for those who are seeking grants or funding for a project by providing the conceptual design services that will create the vision, the plan, and the inspiration needed to fuel the process.

Often, we are called upon to help restore, renovate or recommend reuse of an existing structure, park, or neighborhood area, and we also use design to solve social problems, such as how design can reduce crime or neighborhood traffic. We bring together professionals who contribute design and engineering services to solve practical and aesthetic problems and who partner with groups who want to make a community a better place to live and work.
