The inaugural Cormac McCarthy Literary Festival, to celebrate Appalachian voices in the literary arts, bringing together local and nationally recognized authors. The festival aims to spark conversation and deeper exploration of the history, culture, and tales of Appalachia. All festival activities will be free and include author talks, panel discussions, writers workshops, cultural events, local history programs and literary fun for the whole family. Confirmed authors are Ron Rash, Sharyn McCrumb, Amy Greene, Lin Stepp and Susan Zurenda.
